Data protection
With data protection a hot topic, especially when it comes to Health IT and patient privacy, Medtech Global has earned ISO certification for best practice in Information Security Management Systems. Read more here and in the attachment:
Healthcare technology solutions company Medtech Global (ASX: MDG) is one of the first healthcare IT companies in New Zealand and Australia to be certified for ISO/IEC 27001-13, the internationally recognised standard of best practice in Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
This independent ISMS certification reflects the integrity of Medtech systems in meeting the required ISO standard in respect of the collection and protection of data.
The rapid expansion of patient’s involvement in their healthcare management using patient portals like Medtech’s ManageMyHealth, in conjunction with its practice management systems, Medtech32 and Evolution, emphasises the growing importance of quality information systems for secure data management.
“We consider it vital to ensure our customers have confidence in our systems and feel reassured that we take data protection seriously, especially the protection of patient information,” says Vino Ramayah, executive chairman of Medtech Global. “We are delighted to have our commitment to providing the most effective and secure platforms available, officially recognised at this level.”
Medtech is also an ISO 9001 certified organisation for Quality Management Systems. Both certifications complement and enhance Medtech’s longstanding compliance with New Zealand and Australian national information and privacy guidelines, and legislation.
Medtech fully commissioned its new IT
infrastructure in 2014, which is located at one of the
newest and best equipped data centres in New Zealand. This
significant investment in not only new hardware, but also
implementation of an internationally certified Information
Security Management System, demonstrates Medtech’s
continued commitment to quality and security.
