GP Partnership secures rapid growth
Continuity of care is the driving intent behind a new partnership between MedRecruit’s dedicated New Zealand GP division
and ProCare, Auckland’s largest Primary Health Organisation (PHO). The two organisations have joined forces to solve the
issue of GP locum placements across the ProCare network of practices and in just three months MedRecruit has filled 46
of 52 vacancies.
“We make sure the best doctors are placed in clinics throughout the Auckland region in a fast and convenient manner,
making it easy for practices to focus on what matters; providing patients with the care they deserve,” says MedRecruit’s
GP Division Leader Karla Weston.
For ProCare’s Customer Services Manager Jude Keys, having a service that reduces interruption for practices is
essential. “We’re thrilled to be able to provide this service for the network. Not only does it ensure patients’ access
to their medical home but it addresses the work/life balance for GPs as it allows them to plan and take leave.”
ProCare is New Zealand's largest network of qualified GPs and general practice teams, representing nearly 200 practices
across the greater Auckland region. The PHO also serves the largest Pacific, Maori and Asian populations enrolled in
general practice in New Zealand. As healthcare services and treatments become increasingly complex, ProCare believes it
is more important than ever that general practice teams remain at the hub of healthcare, caring for patients throughout
their whole lives.
