AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 11 February 2015 – Ford New Zealand is to auction FPV GT F #50.
Only 50 of the Ford Falcon FPV GT Fs were built for sale in New Zealand, and the very last of these, #50, will go up for
auction on TradeMe on 16 February and run for two weeks, closing on 2 March.
The FPV GT Fs are the most powerful Falcon GTs ever built. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will go to Ford
NZ’s charity partner of 25 years - Variety the Children’s Charity.
Ford’s FPV GT F pays tribute to the Falcon GT lineage which began in 1967. Today, the Ford Falcon GT is the most iconic
of all Australian-built performance cars and, as the most powerful and advanced GT ever, the FPV GT F is a fitting
celebration to the model.
“The Ford Falcon has been part of the fabric of New Zealand life for half a century, and this very last Falcon FPV GT F
is truly a slice of automotive history,” said Corey Holter, Managing Director of Ford NZ. “Being #50 of only 50, this is
a highly collectible vehicle. Not only will it be a high performance vehicle that is fantastic to drive, it will also
make a very fine and valuable addition to any enthusiast’s collection.”
“And we’re especially happy to be able to donate part of the proceeds to our long standing charity partner Variety - The
Children’s Charity,” added Holter.
The FPV GT F build # 50 is an ultimate collectable, complete with a New Zealand registration plate ‘GTF 50’. GT F #50
has an automatic transmission and comes in Silhouette Black with a matte black stripe package. The vehicle is new and
will be registered for the first time to the auction winner.
The Falcon FPV GT F is powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre DOHC all-aluminium V8 engine, producing a massive 351 kW and
570 Nm of torque. The vehicle wears a “351” badge, recalling the 351 cubic-inch 5.8-litre V8 engine that became
synonymous with success both on and off the race track with the Falcon GT of the late ‘60s and ‘70s. All GT Fs are also
numbered with a special badge on the lower dash area.
Head of Trade Me Motors Darren Wiltshire said his team was excited to see the Ford FPV GT F listed on the site. “We’re
looking forward to helping out with the auction for this beast of a new Ford. We know lots of Kiwis love their Fords and
will get pretty excited once they spot this one. We reckon this will be one of the most popular vehicle auctions on the
site so far this year.”
