Network summary for week ending 11 January 2015
Electricity
Trees touching lines were the cause of lines sparking in Papatoetoe during the week. Our contractors attended, and removed the branch from the lines. It’s a timely reminder to check the trees on your property - if the tree is within four metres of a network power line, call Treescape on 0800 187 337 to trim the tree safely. Remember, the first trim of the tree is free.
An emergency shutdown was needed for emergency repairs after a car v. pole incident in Henderson. There was a second car v. pole incident in Henderson during the week, and another in Papatoetoe.
Our crews isolated power for safety to house/building fires in Puhinui, Otahuhu and Lincoln North during the week.
Gas
Emergency services advised of third party damage to our gas networks in Northcote Point (2), Orewa, Herne Bay, Wiri and Devonport during the week and a smell of gas was reported in Hatfields Beach. Our service provider attended these sites, making the necessary repairs.
Our crews attended a site in Hamilton during the week. Repairs were made, and the customer’s gas supply restored.
