Renaissance to brew the world’s first “crowd-brewed” beer?
Press Release, 8th Jan 2015, For Immediate Release
Multi Award winning Renaissance Brewing is excited to announce that on the 13th January it will be undertaking an exciting new brew, a “crowd-brewed” beer.
In 2014 Renaissance undertook Crowdfunding through New Zealand based Snowball Effect and part of the proceeds of this capital raising was the purchase of 4 new fermenting tanks. These tanks arrived in New Zealand early this week and Renaissance thought what better way to christen one of these tanks than have those whom helped pay for it, brew into it.
Brian Thiel, CEO of Renaissance said:
“Unfortunately getting 300 people into the brewery would be impractical, but there is a new fangled invention that enables us to provide a “virtual experience” and it’s called “the internet”. In late December we installed fast broadband and we are now ready to stream the brew day and allow our shareholders the opportunity to help us with decisions on what and how we brew. It will be very interactive with polls, chat and video.”
“We scoured the “internet” with vast diligence for at least 15 minutes, we think that this might be the first crowd-brewed beer in the world……..ever!”
The stream will also be available for everyone around the world to view via youtube live streaming, but it will only be shareholders that get to vote on the decisions. So far the crowd has voted that Andy (Head Brewer) will be wearing a kilt and voting is underway in regards to the style of beer, with Imperial Black Saison currently in first place, followed by Session Red Ale.
The stream will start at 9am, 13th January NZ Time – to view it you can go to http://www.jointherenaissance.co.nz/crowd-brew-stream
