CoreLogic RP Data December 2014 Hedonic Home Value Index Results
Capital city home values rise by 7.9% in 2014
The December 2014 results of the CoreLogic RP Data Home Value Index saw combined capital city home values rise by 0.9%
over the month to take the annual increase to 7.9%.
The CoreLogic RP Data Home Value Index showed that dwelling values across the combined capital cities increased by 0.9
per cent in December 2014. Throughout the month home values rose in all cities except for Darwin (-0.6%) and Canberra
(-0.6%) while values were unchanged in Sydney.
Highlights over the three months to December 2014
•Best performing capital city: Perth +2.8 per cent
•Weakest performing capital city: Canberra -3.4 per cent
•Highest rental yields: Darwin houses with gross rental yield of 5.9 per cent and Darwin Units at 5.8 per cent
•Lowest rental yields: Melbourne houses with gross rental yield of 3.3 per cent and Melbourne unitsat 4.2 per cent
•Most expensive city: Sydney with a median dwelling price of $730,500
•Most affordable city: Hobart with a median dwelling price of $341,500
