IAG to Offer Travel Insurance through Cover-More
IAG in New Zealand has entered into a partnership with leading specialist travel insurance provider Cover-More to provide travel insurance and travel assistance services for IAG brands, including AMI Insurance, State Insurance and NZI.
IAG’s Executive General Manager of Direct Insurance, Craig Olsen, says the partnership will mean transitioning IAG’s current travel insurance business to Cover-More in phases starting in January.
The partnership follows a review of IAG’s travel insurance business aimed at maintaining the best possible products and support for customers, while ensuring commercially sustainable returns in a highly competitive market, Mr Olsen said.
“This decision helps to ensure IAG customers are provided with the most compelling travel insurance products possible, supported by leading digital solutions,” said Mr Olsen.
“Cover-More has a tradition of partnerships with leading brands and is able to bring technological solutions to our customers more quickly than we have been able to do in the past. That will open up an number of opportunities across our brands.”
The transition of the IAG travel portfolio will be approached in phases, with the State and AMI travel brands moving over to Cover-More at the end of January.
IAG will look to transition the rest of its travel business to Cover-More through the first half of the year.
