Verifone puts the ‘fast’ in fast food with Restaurant Brands

Verifone puts the ‘fast’ in fast food with Restaurant Brands

Auckland, 18 December 2014 – Verifone announced today the completed rollout of VX Evolution—its latest line of contactless and NFC enabled payment terminals supported by Verifone’s services platform—for Restaurant Brands New Zealand Limited (Restaurant Brands).

A successful collaboration between Verifone and key partner Lexel Systems (Lexel) saw VX Evolution installed at 174 Restaurant Brands sites throughout New Zealand.

On selecting Verifone as Lexel’s partner, Noel Simpson, CEO of Lexel, said, “When Lexel reviewed the market for the best supplier and partner for both Lexel and Restaurants Brands, Verifone stood out as the clear leader. Not only are they the international leader in payments, but their architectural strategy to deploy a local gateway in New Zealand enabled the release of device features and new hardware at a much faster pace than has been seen before in the country. Adding to that its massive array of offerings and pragmatic and positive approach to getting business done - Verifone was the clear choice.”

The VX Evolution series offers Restaurant Brands the ability to improve its electronic payments acceptance capabilities. To deliver faster service at front counters and drive through windows, Restaurant Brands interfaced all of Verifone’s terminals with its point of sale systems, becoming the first company in New Zealand to use Wi-Fi connected terminals at all drive through service windows.

Additionally, VX Evolution from Verifone provides Restaurants Brands with a future-proof solution that not only supports contactless and NFC payment acceptance, but also enhances payment security and the ability to engage customers through the terminals’ featured colour touch screens that can display custom graphics and content.

Geoff Holton, General Manager of Information Services at Restaurant Brands, sees Lexel and Verifone as a perfect fit for Restaurant Brands. “We’ve had a strong relationship with Lexel for many years, and Verifone is one of the leading EFTPOS suppliers in the world. They worked closely together to create a bespoke solution for us to maximise the robustness of the Wi-Fi terminal used in our drive through environment. Verifone terminals give us the speed, simplicity, and the ability to accept Tap and Go contactless and NFC-based payments.”

Pete Hansen, Country Manager of New Zealand for Verifone adds, “Verifone’s superior hardware combined with its services platform demonstrates Verifone’s strength in the New Zealand marketplace. We are proud to partner with Lexel to create the best fit payments solution possible that meets Restaurant Brands’ needs today and in the future.”
