Extra Jetstar destination welcomed, says Chamber
Wellington’s new air connection with Melbourne will provide a further welcome boost to the region’s economy, says Wellington Employers’ Chamber of Commerce President John Milford.
“This is a great move by Jetstar, following so closely on the heels of the Coolangatta link which started just last week, and shows the airline’s commitment to our region.
“The four flights and 75,000 seats that are expected to be added each year to Wellington’s international market will expose the region’s tourism to Melbourne’s four million population.
“When we add to that the 56,000 seats expected from the airline’s Gold Coast route we can begin to see what air links will mean for our region.
“This is a perfect example of how valuable the right air connection can be, and must further strengthen the case for a longer runway.”
