BioGro New Zealand Names New CEO
BioGro New Zealand is
pleased to announce that Donald Nordeng has been appointed
the new Chief Executive of BioGro.
He will be taking over the role from Dr Michelle Glogau who stepped down in early September.
Donald is an accomplished director with extensive experience in leading, building and growing companies in the organic certification industry.
Donald is well-recognised in the international organics sector and will bring global networks and perspectives to his new position.
Most recently, Donald has been CEO of Daabon Organic, leading a dynamic team responsible for the largest volume of organic products imported from South America to Japan. Prior to this, Donald spent eleven years as managing director of Ecocert Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ecocert SA - the largest sustainable development certifier in the world.
Donald was born in the USA and has been based in Tokyo, Japan for the last 26 years. He said he is “excited to come to New Zealand as it’s a place that I’ve always wanted to live and explore and help grow organics.”
Donald will continue building key relationships and partnerships with people and organisations that are working to grow BioGro and organics here in NZ and around the world.
BioGro chair Mark Houghton-Brown said that Donald’s appointment is part of an exciting new phase for BioGro.
“BioGro will continue to grow under Donald’s guidance,” he said. “We are very pleased to have appointed such a high calibre new CE with experience in the certification industry, organics and business acumen to replace Michelle.”
Donald will start at BioGro in mid-January 2015.
