New Lead Sponsors for Public Sector Excellence Awards 2015

8 December 2014

New Lead Sponsors for the Public Sector Excellence Awards 2015

IPANZ is delighted to announce the appointment of Deloitte and Fujitsu as new lead sponsors for the annual Public Sector Excellence Awards.

The Excellence Awards will continue to be owned and organised by IPANZ but will now be known as the Deloitte Fujitsu Public Sector Excellence Awards. First held in 2008, they recognise excellence in the public sector and provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate projects that enhance the lives of New Zealanders. The 2015 Awards will be held on 21 July at the TSB Bank Arena in Wellington.

IPANZ President John Larkindale says Deloitte and Fujitsu were the obvious choices to take over as lead sponsors for the Awards.

“Both Deloitte and Fujitsu demonstrate a strong commitment to New Zealand’s public sector, working with a wide range of public sector entities and their leaders to make the country a better place,” says Mr Larkindale.

“We look forward to working closely with them to continue to enhance the Awards programme.”

Deloitte partner and public sector leader Dave Farrelly says sponsorship of the Public Sector Excellence Awards is the next logical step in their relationship with IPANZ.

“As a foundation partner of IPANZ we are committed to supporting them in their work promoting improvements in public policy, administration and management in the public sector. Publicly recognising and celebrating success is an important part of these efforts and we are delighted to extend our support to include the Awards,” says Mr Farrelly.

Fujitsu New Zealand’s managing director Stuart Stitt says the Awards are the quintessential awards for New Zealand’s public sector.

“We are delighted to sponsor the Public Sector Excellence Awards. They set the scene to profile our high quality public sector’s thought leadership on the international stage,” says Mr Stitt.

“Technology plays a significant role in digitising New Zealand to improve the lives of Kiwis, build efficiencies for our business communities and improve our economy through our connection to the digital world. Fujitsu provides services to numerous government agencies and we are looking forward to seeing some of their great work recognised.”

Nominations for the 2015 Awards open today, 8 December 2014, and close on 2 March 2015.

“We encourage nominations for public sector projects or initiatives that recognise and promote excellence in terms of vision, innovation, and the achievement of results,” says Mr Larkindale.

“We look forward to seeing the 2015 group of high calibre entries for the Awards,” he concludes.
