TGH Appoints New General Manager of Property
Tainui
Group Holdings (TGH) today announced the appointment of Dean
Shields in the role of General Manager Property.
TGH Chief Executive Mike Pohio says Mr Shields brings a strong track record in developing and managing property across the industrial, retail, hotel and residential sectors, which all align with the spectrum of property held by TGH on behalf of Waikato-Tainui.
“Dean’s experience across the breadth of property uses and deep understanding of planning processes associated with large-scale, multi-year developments will be a great asset to TGH as we continue to play our part in the Waikato growth story while looking for ways to make our existing properties work as hard as possible,” Mr Pohio says.
Dean Shields holds
qualifications in Civil Engineering (NZCE), Property
(Bachelor of Property) and Finance (Graduate Diploma of
Business). In his previous role as a Senior Development
Manager for Todd Property,
Dean has been leading the
development of a 126 hectare master planned site on the
Kapiti coast.
Mr Shields says he is looking forward to working in the Waikato Region which he knows well from an earlier role managing capital projects which included the re-development of SKYCITY Hamilton.
“TGH has built up a strong foundation in property holdings over the past 15 years and I’m hugely excited by the challenge of helping TGH identify and pursue the best management and investment choices for the future,” Mr Shields says.
Mr Shields commences work in his new role at TGH on 19 January next year.
