New app takes hassle out of booking and paying for a taxi

Blue Bubble Taxis are now offering passengers an order-and-pay on-line service through a new app developed by Smartpay, New Zealand’s largest eftpos supplier.

The app, Blue Bubble, is available now to download for free for both android and apple devices and covers the largest taxi fleet in New Zealand, including Wellington Combined, Auckland Co-op and Blue Star Taxis in Christchurch.

Bradley Gerdis, Managing Director of Smartpay, says taxi users around New Zealand will benefit.

“Using the pre-pay functionality users will be able to book their cab with their smartphone and then jump out at the other end knowing the payment has already been taken care of through the secure TaxiCharge payment system ” says Gerdis. Alternatively the customers can choose not to prepay, instead paying the driver at the end of the journey as normal.

Gerdis says the development of the app is a first for the company.

“We are delighted to be able to support Blue Bubble and TaxiCharge in this new way of making life easy for its customers.”

He says technology for retailers is moving very quickly and Smartpay is leading the delivery of innovation to its customers.
