2014 Engineering Excellence Awards to celebrate talent

2014 Engineering Excellence Awards: Celebrating New Zealand’s world-leading talent in the field of engineering
A selection of New Zealand’s leading engineers are preparing to gather in Auckland on Friday 28 November for the 2014 New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards.
“The New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards have been running since 2005. They are the premier awards for engineering professionals in New Zealand and this year we have 19 finalists in the Projects, People, and Practice categories of awards and six other finalists for community engagement and safety in engineering,” explains Kieran Devine, Interim Chief Executive of IPENZ, one of the eight partner organisations hosting the awards.
“The awards are a great opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding leadership and innovation in the field of engineering. This year our finalists cover a host of areas ranging from earthquake resistant building design; sewage, waste and water management; through to electricity supply and safety and some excellent examples that blending engineering design with New Zealand’s cultural heritage. It’s going to be tough on the judges,” Mr Devine adds.
The New Zealand Engineering Excellence (NZEE) Awards recognise excellence and innovation in projects, people and practice using leading-edge technology. The awards take place on Friday 28 November 2014, with winners being announced that evening at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland. Well-known TVNZ presenter, Miriama Kamo, will host the evening.
