Finalists announced for DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship

Auckland, 29 October 2014 - DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, is pleased to
bring three of New Zealand’s top emerging fashion exporters a step closer to being awarded the highly coveted DHL
Express Fashion Export Scholarship as Georgia Alice, Lucy McIntosh and Sly Guild are announced as finalists today.
In its seventh year, the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship is designed to identify New Zealand’s hottest
up-and-coming fashion exporters and assist them in achieving international growth.
The 2014 DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship finalists are:

The scholarship has become an early identifier of young talent in New Zealand, with previous winners such as Stolen
Girlfriends Club, Lonely Hearts, twentysevennames and I Love Ugly going on to significant international recognition.
In a first for the competition, inaugural winner Dan Gosling, director and part owner of Stolen Girlfriends Club, has
returned to the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship as a judge. Gosling will join an esteemed panel that includes
John Kelly, MAX Fashions CEO, Paul Blomfield, chairman at FINZ and Megan Wildermoth, fashion and textiles specialist at
DHL.
The winning scholarship package includes international freight to the value of NZ$10,000, as well as coaching in freight
and logistics from DHL Express, a tailored export mentoring package from Fashion Industry New Zealand (FINZ) and an
annual FINZ membership. The other two finalists will also receive freight from DHL Express to the value of $1,500
(runner up) and $500 (third place).
“Fashion is an important sector of New Zealand’s export market and these three finalists all demonstrated a sound export
strategy, an innovative approach to marketing and a lot of potential,” says Megan Wildermoth, fashion and textiles
specialist at DHL Express New Zealand.
