Whitcoulls sell record-breaking jigsaw puzzle

Puzzling is huge and it just got bigger with Whitcoulls releasing EDUCA Puzzle 33600 into New Zealand. This striking wildlife puzzle by top international artist Adrian Chesterman contains the largest number of pieces of any jigsaw puzzle in the world. It is also one of the most expensive, at NZ$999.00.

EDUCAs Puzzle comprises 33,600 pieces and when assembled measures a whopping 5.7 x 1.57 metres. The huge scale of the jigsaw puzzle means that it is housed in a wooden box on wheels; it is also divided up into ten bags, to make it easier to complete progressively.

The EDUCA Puzzle 33600 features the work of internationally recognised artist Adrian Chesterman. Drawing on his fascination with murals, Chesterman has created a minutely detailed, colourful and striking African wildlife artwork. On completion, Chesterman said "drawing a gigantic scene with all these wonders of the animal kingdom was a great delight."

EDUCAs Puzzle 33600 is available to purchase online at www.whitcoulls.co.nz or in-store at Whitcoulls Albany, Botany Downs, Queen Street Auckland, Sylvia Park and Lambton Quay. Whitcoulls stocks one of the widest ranges of jigsaw puzzles in New Zealand and retail a number of products which are exclusive to them, including EDUCA Puzzle 33600.

Adrian Chesterman studied fine art at Norwich School of Art and illustration at the Royal College of Art in Kensington, London. As an illustrator he has worked for just about everyone, on just about everything, just about everywhere. From film publicity art for Stephen Spielberg, to stage-set art for Andrew Lloyd-Weber and advertising commissions for Coca Cola and Singapore Airlines. Chesterman has illustrated book covers and many music album covers. He has exhibited at the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Madison Gallery in Los Angeles. Chesterman lives in Andalucia, Spain.
