#giveemasqueeze Show Mum Massive Love & Squeeze Her
Post pictures of your hugs with mum at www.facebook.com/pinkcapdrive and directly support Bridgestone’s Pink Cap Drive for New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation
All funds raised from selling pink caps go to NZBCF, $40,100 raised since Oct 1
Mum is the first one we want to turn to in tough times for a loving hug. Her calming cuddles can make everything in the world seem ok and make you feel like a superstar. This year, we want you to show your best love and support for her and all the other mums touched by breast cancer, by taking a photo giving your mum a squeeze.
Put your hugging shots up on Facebook atwww.facebook.com/pinkcapdrive, use the hashtags #giveemasqueeze #mammogramsavelives and share your stories and experiences. It’s part of Bridgestone’s Pink Cap Drive campaign which started early inOctober and runs till November 30th, along with buying the iconic pink tyre valve caps for $2 from bridgestonepinkcaps.co.nz/ where 100% of the proceeds benefit the New Zealand Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF).
We also want you to get talking. Remember that mammograms can find breast changes early, well before you can. Just a little squeeze or discomfort from a regular mammogram from age 40 could save your life. Anyone between the age of 45 and 69 can enroll for the free screening programme on 0800 270 200.
Bridgestone and its Pink Caps
Since 2008, Bridgestone has sold its unique pink tyre valve caps through Bridgestone Tyre Centre, Bridgestone Select and Firestone stores to raise funds for the NZBCF supporting the women affected every day by breast cancer. “This year we’re stepping up our fundraising efforts by introducing online sales and running anintegrated social campaign with mums, dads, daughters, sons and families as a focus,” says Tim Southey, Marketing Manager for Bridgestone New Zealand.
Waking Giants is the branding agency that Bridgestone has engaged to run the campaign. Grant Difford, Creative Director/Owner for Waking Giants says that two years ago he lost his mother mum to breast cancer, so this is a cause close to his heart. “Social media is an important tool in showing how this illness affects so many. With Bridgestone’s efforts we’re providing a platform for sharing, to allow the healing process to start and make some incredible steps to fundraise for the NZBCF.”
“The Pink Cap Drive fundraising campaign is incredibly valuable to the NZBCF and we are delighted to see it come out with an emotional hook, involving the woman you love,” says Evangelia Henderson, Chief Executive of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. “Breast cancer is a disease that affects whole families and communities. We love that Bridgestone can take such a serious issue and give it such a unique spin.”
“The Pink Cap Drive campaign continues to be successful year on year as many of us know someone affected by this disease,” says John Staples from Bridgestone, the Group General Manager New Zealand Business. “Our goal each year is to increase people’s awareness about early detection and treatment options, while raising money for an incredible cause and organisation. In the six years since we started the campaign, Kiwis have contributed almost half a million dollars to the cause – which is pretty amazing.”
