Announcement of new group to represent ICT sector and help transform New Zealand’s tax system
Seven people from
a variety of backgrounds have been appointed to Inland
Revenue’s new Information and Communications Technology
(ICT) Reference Group.
Myles Ward, Chief Technology Officer at Inland Revenue has welcomed the appointments and will chair the group alongside the department’s Deputy Commissioner of Change, Greg James.
Mr Ward said it was exciting to have such a wealth of knowledge to advise Inland Revenue to ensure technology is used effectively to help simplify the process of paying tax and receiving entitlements.
“Those selected are all highly experienced in their fields and will offer other perspectives which will help us identify innovative ways to continue delivering improved and easy to use ICT services,” said Mr Ward.
“We had an excellent response from applicants and the final members bring with them extensive ICT and business experience including knowledge about transformation programmes, banking, digital, and customer services.
“Inland Revenue is confident the group’s members are a good representation of New Zealand’s ICT sector and will be an excellent sounding board as we modernise every aspect of our tax system from business processes to customer services,” said Mr Ward.
Inland Revenue’s new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Reference Group will meet quarterly with the first meeting next month.
