Nominations open for 2015 New Zealand CFO Awards

Nominations open for 2015 New Zealand CFO Awards and registrations open for Summit

7 October 2014, Auckland: Nominations for the 2015 New Zealand CFO Awards are now open and finance professionals are encouraged to enter for the opportunity to be recognised on a national stage.

The annual awards celebrate success and excellence in financial leadership and will be held in March 2015 as part of the New Zealand CFO Summit.

The 2015 CFO Summit keynote speaker has been announced as John Goodwin, CFO of the Lego Group. After a 22 year career with Proctor & Gamble, Goodwin joined the Lego Group in 2012, entering the business at a time when company costs were climbing. In his CFO Summit presentation, Goodwin will touch on the role of innovation Lego’s recent turnaround, from near bankruptcy in 2004 to their current position as the world’s largest toy manufacturer.

Designed with the CFO and senior finance executive in mind, the New Zealand CFO Summit is an opportunity for finance leaders across all industry sectors to examine issues and share insights and best practice. The 2014 Summit was attended by 300 finance industry leaders who enjoyed insightful, high-level presentations from international keynotes and some of New Zealand’s most well-respected business leaders.

The annual event, which is organised by Fairfax Media and Conferenz, is then capped off by a sell-out CFO Awards dinner which attracts hundreds of guests who join together and celebrate success and excellence in financial leadership.

Conferenz owner Steve Scott says the 2015 event is an opportunity to celebrate the often unsung heroes of business.

“A CFO Award is a highly sought after accolade amongst finance professionals because it recognises the real difference individuals and teams have made to New Zealand’s financial and business community.

The process of entering an award itself is valuable as it forces you to analyse yourself, your strengths and weaknesses and the critical factors behind your success. All entrants come out of the process better off purely because they entered.”

The 2015 CFO Award categories are as follows:

• CFO of the Year (sponsored by EY)

• Financial Project of the Year (sponsored by TechnologyOne)

• Finance Team of the Year

• Young Financial Manager of the Year (sponsored by ASB)

• Outstanding Contribution to Finance & Business (sponsored by CIMA)

The following two award categories will also feature in the 2015 CFO Awards for the first time:

• SME Financial Leader of the Year

• Contribution to Community

Visit www.cfosummit.co.nz to register interest in the 2015 CFO Summit and to enter the CFO Awards. Entries must be submitted by Friday 5 December 2014.
