ASB first bank to be awarded the Rainbow Tick
ASB is delighted to be the first bank and the largest organisation in New Zealand to be awarded the Rainbow Tick, an
external audit and quality improvement programme designed to help an organisation to be a safe, welcoming and inclusive
place for people of diverse gender identity and sexual orientation.
“Participating in the Rainbow Tick audit programme has helped the ASB community across the country to work together
towards creating a more inclusive workplace that embraces and celebrates diversity of thought, insights, perspectives
and experiences,” says ASB Bank Chief Executive Barbara Chapman.
“ASB has been working closely with the Rainbow Tick to gain accreditation and reaching this goal reflects ASB’s
commitment to being a truly inclusive workplace,” says Michael Stevens, Rainbow Tick Programme Director.
“Already well-known for its sponsorship of the NZ Falcons, ASB is leading the way in showing how a financial institution
can support and welcome people from the LGBTTI communities. Chief Executive Barbara Chapman has been a powerful sponsor,
working closely with the ASB and Rainbow Tick team to ensure outcomes are real and meaningful. We are delighted to be
able to confirm ASB as the first bank in New Zealand to achieve this standard.”
ASB was also recognised for its commitment to leading gender equality in the workplace at the White Camellia Awards in
Auckland, winning awards for leadership in promoting gender equality and implementing enterprise development, supply
chain and marketing practices that empower women.
