Tobias Young – Taupo and Le Pine & Co’s new lawyer
Tobias Young has left the hustle and bustle of Auckland, where he practiced construction and company law, to join Le Pine & Co. Tobias joins Tony Devlin in the Commercial, Property and Trust Team and brings with him a wealth of experience in commercial property, asset planning and trust law as well as business and commercial law.
“We are excited to welcome Tobias to our team. He brings experience but matched with youth and energy” says Tony Devlin.
Together with his partner Gena and two young children, Tobias looks forward to involving himself in Taupo’s vibrant community and engaging his passion for sport, music and environmental projects.
“Our family arrived last year in New Zealand from Australia and honestly, we never want to leave. Taupo is the icing on the cake; it’s fabulous for our family and we already feel very much at home. The kids love it!”
“The Taupo region excites me professionally because of its diversity, commitment to growth and the way it embraces new opportunities and ideas.”
Originally from the UK, Tobias grew up in Perth, Western Australia and gained his LLB (with distinction) and a BSc in 2009. He was admitted to the Supreme Court of WA and High Court of Australia in 2011 and to the New Zealand High Court in 2013.
“I joined the legal industry in 2007 where I trained in wills, estate administration, property and other family related services. It was a great opportunity in 2011 when I became ‘second in command’ for my former firm’s litigation team and specialised in property, retirement village, traffic, banking, insolvency and other contractual matters. It was an excellent experience and honed my skills as a negotiator and litigator,” he says.
A passionate volunteer for youth leadership and environmental projects, Tobias believes Taupo is an ideal location to satisfy his lifestyle and professional values.
By the way, if anyone is looking for a drummer in their band, Tobias could be your man.
