New software releases put IDIOM at the forefront of policy automation and decision management
IDIOM Decision Manager™, IDIOM Forms™, and IDIOM Workbench™ allow customers to benefit from agile business policy development and implementation
AUCKLAND, NZ, September 29, 2014 – Auckland-based software company IDIOM Limited today announced new versions for the complete IDIOM product suite, including IDIOM Decision Manager™ (v4.1), IDIOM Forms™ (v1.0.7), and IDIOM Workbench™ (v3.1). These products continue IDIOM's 13 year record of outstanding performance in the field of policy and decision automation software.
Mark Norton, CEO of IDIOM says, “IDIOM has been working with some of the world’s largest organisations in the fields of insurance, superannuation, and health billing to extend and refine its already industry leading products. This resulted in IDIOM focusing on three key areas: the scale, complexity, and speed of decision making; full life cycle support for automated policy development, including capture, testing, documentation, and enterprise wide deployment; and increased ease of use for the policy analysts who use the IDIOM tools on a daily basis.”
Norton says IDIOM’s clients are industry leaders who have looked closely at the market for policy and decision automation products over the years.
“Now our clients are telling us that no other vendor can address the full complexity of their business policies – period. They are further impressed that IDIOM can address such complexity so quickly, both in terms of the underlying rules development, and of its subsequent execution. With the ability to develop, test, and deploy business policies and policy defined products on a daily basis, their businesses are now more agile and more resilient,” says Norton.
The cornerstone product, the IDIOM Decision Manager™ is used by policy analysts, usually without IT assistance, to capture, test, document, and generate software components that fully automate complex business policies. Time and again, these generated components have been shown to execute much faster than the legacy applications that they have replaced.
The full extent of IDIOM policy and decision automation can be embedded into web 2.0 style forms using IDIOM Forms™, to offer a fully reflexive browser forms experience. IDIOM Forms can deal with the more complex use cases that are handled routinely by IDIOM Decision Manager, presenting and managing thousands of data elements, which are in turn responding to hundreds of thousands of rules executing ‘field by field’ to apply the business policy in real-time.
To help IDIOM’s clients evolve these business policies, and to demonstrate policy effectiveness prior to its ratification and deployment, IDIOM also offers IDIOM Workbench™. The Workbench provides a large scale platform to execute IDIOM automated decision making over entire databases of live cases - millions of insurance policies, pension accounts, or health encounters evaluated per hour - to verify the data, the rules, and ultimately, the business policy itself. Or to simply perform full scale batch processing in a fraction of the time it takes with traditional approaches.
IDIOM Workbench also includes data-masking as with the increasing pace of privacy regulation, the testing, auditing, and analysing of systems and their data using live production data is becoming increasingly fraught. The IDIOM Workbench includes millions of fake identities which it can use to dynamically substitute for real identity data in production records, so that privacy can be assured whenever the data may be seen by anybody other than authorised parties - for instance, when it is being worked on by application programmers, who usually have no right or need to see privacy related data.
IDIOM Co-Founder Mark Hamilton sums up this game changing release, "The IDIOM suite has matured to support the full business policy lifecycle - developing, testing, implementing and then evolving complex business policies. This is all free from the constraints imposed by mainstream IT software development practices. The business agility and efficiencies that result are providing our clients with the competitive edge they are seeking”.
