Social Workers Day a time to celebrate
The Public Service Association (PSA) is celebrating Social Workers Day today, and congratulates the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW) on 50 years of being the voice of the profession.
Glenn Barclay, PSA acting national secretary, said “social workers help countless New Zealanders every year,”
“The PSA is proud of what our social work members do to help improve the lives of people across the country.
“As the union for social workers, we represent over a thousand highly skilled and hardworking people who are passionate about helping people thrive.
“Social workers do their jobs in a wide variety of settings, including District Health Boards; Child, Youth and Family, and across the community sector.
“This year is the 50th anniversary of ANZASW, and we’re proud to work alongside them to help social workers do their best.
“Thank you to all social workers, we truly value your skills, expertise and passion,” said Glenn Barclay.
