New Industry Portal Introduces Innovative Technology
Industry owned and operated real estate portal, SQUIIZ, introduced its website and industry first mobile application at
its first launch function in Brisbane late last week.
The 100 per cent industry owned portal and application aims to future proof online marketing costs for both the industry
and clients, by offering a low cost listing alternative.
The SQUIIZ application offers a ‘Mobility in the Moment’ concept, allowing a user to pre-select property features they
are seeking, and if they travel within 50 metres of a property listing that matches their criteria; they receive
property details via voice prompt from their smart phone. SQUIIZ portal members are able to upload all listings to the
portal for free, and for a small cost each month, logos and agent photos can be added to the listings. Non-members are
also able to utilise the portal for their listings for as little as $50 a month.
Any profits received will be reinvested into marketing and technology until SQUIIZ becomes the number one real estate
listing portal in Australia. Real estate networks and independents such as Belle Property, Century 21, Harcourts Group,
IRENE (Independent Real Estate Network of Excellence), LJ Hooker, Place, PRD Nationwide, Raine & Horne, Ray White and RE/MAX are all behind the new portal.
Mike Green, Managing Director of Harcourts International said the Group is excited to be a part of this new industry
alternative. “Support from the industry has been incredibly strong. There were over 400 people at the first launch in
Brisbane, and there was an overwhelmingly positive response to the portal and the industry initiative.”

will no doubt make the experience easier, more enjoyable and more rewarding for our clients,” Mr Green continued.
The SQUIIZ model is similar to a New Zealand industry owned real estate portal that was established over 10 years ago,
which has resulted in www.realestate.co.nz becoming the number one real estate portal in the country.
“If we look at the industry owned portal that started in New Zealand which is now number one, we can see that this model
will work. We need to control our data and ensure realistic pricing options for the industry. Working together and
putting aside brand competition will make this a reality,” Mr Green said.
The SQUIIZ website and application are going live from the 15th of October, with launches continuing around the country
this week.
