New Appointments to Abano’s Dental Boards
Abano Healthcare Group is strengthening its subsidiary dental business boards as its New Zealand and Australian dental businesses continue to grow.
Two new appointments have been made to the Lumino board. Dr Andrea Shepperson, one of New Zealand’s most respected dental lecturers and educators, will be joining the Lumino board from 1 October 2014. Andrea is the principal dentist at Lumino’s City Dental at Quay Park and recently retired as Chair of the Lumino Clinical Advisory Board. In addition, Lumino’s General Manager of Operations, Vikki Andrews, will also join the Lumino board.
In Australia, Group General Manager of Dental Partners, Malcolm Lean, has been appointed to that board from 1 October 2014. Malcolm, the senior executive and line manager of Dental Partners, will sit on the board alongside existing local director, Dr Tony Bubear, who is Dental Partners’ Executive Clinical Director and Chair of the Dental Partners Clinical Advisory Council.
Abano COO, Richard Keys and Abano Dental CEO, Andy Tapper, also sit on the Lumino and Dental Partners boards, which are both chaired by Abano’s CEO, Alan Clarke.
Alan Clarke said: “I am delighted to welcome these three very able and experienced people to our dental boards. We now have more than 2,000 staff and 158 practices across Australia and New Zealand. Our trans-Tasman dental group continues to grow strongly with five acquisitions completed in the financial year to date.
“Abano’s dental businesses are already successful and we are continually looking at ways we can improve and refine our business model to attract the very best in the dental profession to join us. We have extensive management and clinical expertise across our senior leadership teams and we are delighted that these three high calibre individuals have agreed to join our dental boards.
“They all add significant value and their appointments support our positioning as a leader of professional development in the dental industry and our expanding reputation as the partner of choice for the profession, and importantly, as a recognised provider of high quality clinical care to the thousands of clients we see every day.”
