Show Numbers Prove Home Building and Renovation at an All Time High
The largest home renovation and building event in Australasia, the Auckland Home Show is today celebrating a hugely
successful event, having experienced a surge of popularity last seen prior to the Global Financial Crisis.
Exhibitions and Events New Zealand can report a 24% increase of last year's attendance with more than 50,000 visitors
attending the show across the five days. Exhibition Director Amanda Magnus said that more than 15,000 attended on the
Saturday alone and sales of products and services were at record levels.
"We've heard reports from exhibitors saying they had exceeded their entire budget for the show in the first two days of
business,” she says.
"We're anticipating that business from the event will well eclipse the $60 million achieved last year" she said.
Renowned for its extensive showcase of high-end and innovative products, the Auckland Home Show featured more than 500
exhibitors from kitchen and bathroom suppliers, appliances furnishing, garden landscaping and life-enhancing products.
Signs for a popular 2014 show were seen more than 10 weeks prior to the show with Exhibitions and Events New Zealand
having to increase available exhibition space by almost 500msq due to high exhibitor demand.
And while many of the exhibitors were returning after success in previous years, a large number were exhibiting for the
first time – promising something fresh for first timers as well as long-time show devotees.
“We had huge line-up of events happening at the Auckland Home Show and we really felt that visitors were going to be
wowed the variety of products, services and workshops on offer this year,” said Magnus.
