New Zealand Wool Services International Limited’s Marketing Executive, Mr Paul Steel reports that at today’s North Island Wool Sale prices where comparable were generally unchanged when compared to the South Island on the 28th
When compared with the last North Island on the 14th August prices have strengthened overall.
On a limited offering of Fine Crossbred Fleece prices were generally unchanged.
Fine Crossbred Early Shorn and Second Shear 33 micron 3 to 5 inch and 3 to 4 inch remained firm whilst 34 to 36 micron 3 to 5 inch and 3 to 4 inch were generally 1 percent cheaper with 35 and 36 micron 2 to 4 inch 2 percent dearer.
Coarse Crossbred Fleece on a limited offering were 1 percent cheaper.
Coarse Crossbred Early Shorn and Second Shear 37 micron and coarser 3 to 5 inch were 1.5 percent cheaper, 3 to 4 inch were up to 1 percent dearer, 2 to 4 inch declined by 3 percent whilst 2 to 3 inch rose fully 2 percent.
Combing Oddments remained firm and Clothing Oddments 2 to 4 inch were 3.5 percent dearer and 2 to 3 inch were 3.5 percent cheaper.
The next sale on the 11th August.
September comprises approximately 12,500 bales from the South Island.
