Global Innovation Leader appointed to Vigil's International Advisory Board

Vigil Monitoring has appointed United States based Professor Chris Wasden as an Advisory Board member to guide and support the development of itsinternational strategy and product development.

Professor Wasden is an expert on digital health technology applications that support transformation. He has significant experience in the creation of innovative operating models that adapt to the turbulent new market realties created by SMAC (social, mobile, analytic and cloud) digital technologies in healthcare. This experience makes Chris a perfect advisor for Vigil.

Chris is known internationally for his work on creating consumer oriented value propositions that deliver significant value to patients and health systems.

While the market is flooded with emerging digital tools for patients, successful solutions need to have six principles at their core:

• Integration: Tools need to be integrated into the lifestyle of the patient and integrated with the clinincal workflow.
• Interoperability: From a technology perspective, tools must share information and work across information technology systems.
• Intelligence: Tools can't just give patients the data that they gave it. They need to give insights from the data and create changes in behavior.
• Social: Patients have to be able to share the information with their community in a way that supports any behaviors they want to change.
• Engaging: They need to be fun to use. Patients must want to use them and come back time and time again.
• Outcomes: They must collect information, show changes in behaviour, and deliver better health outcomes.

About Chris Wasden

Chris Wasden is a professor of innovation in the Entrepreneurship and Strategy Department at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Sorenson Center for Discovery and Innovation and the Associated Executive Director of the Center for Medical Innovation.
