Heritage Chef Joins Australasian Hotel Chef Award Nominees

Heritage Chef Joins Top Australasian Hotel Chef Award Nominees

Heritage Auckland’s executive chef, Jinu Abraham, has just been nominated in the best hotel chef category by HM (Hotel Management) magazine. He joins a roll call of top Australasian chefs on the short list of the Australian magazine’s annual award nominees. The winner will be announced in September in Sydney.

Abraham also recently won the New Zealand Vegetarian Dish Challenge 2014, in his category, with his dish of organic tofu and pea stuffed potato, smoked tomato and onions. This is a second win for Abraham, having been the winner of the inaugural Vegetarian Dish Challenge in 2012.

He has a local reputation for taking the initiative in New Zealand hotel dining, recently harnessing the rise in the raw food movement with the Raw Breakfast Bar in the hotel’s Hector’s Restaurant, New Zealand’s first accredited vegetarian hotel restaurant.

“I always strive to change the perceptions of hotel food,” says Abraham. ‘With every meal, we’re celebrating New Zealand’s vibrant and varied cuisine.”
