PHARMAC welcomes updated Medicines NZ Code of Practice
PHARMAC is welcoming the publication of an updated Medicines NZ Code of Practice (COP).
The Code, now in its 16th edition, has been updated following feedback from stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector, including PHARMAC.
Chief executive Steffan Crausaz says the Code is an important tool to set the operational and behaviour standards for pharmaceutical companies in New Zealand.
The Code is important for ensuring Medicines NZ’s member companies meet their legislative and ethical obligations,” says Steffan Crausaz. “We welcome the key changes that were made to the code, which largely reflect changes in the wider health sector and legislation.”
“We also appreciate the open and consultative way in which the revised code was developed, giving stakeholders an opportunity to provide their views on proposed revisions in a transparent manner.”
