The Edge Revealed as Station Behind ‘Love You Man’ Campaign
The Edge has revealed they are the brand behind the ‘Love You Man’ campaign, taking bromance to the next level.
The Edge’s, Jay-Jay, Mike & Dom announced they have the opportunity to send two friends to the UK in 2015 to watch New Zealand’s Rugby team defend a famous trophy in a tournament that happens every four years.
Dom Harvey says, “This is a once in a lifetime trip, so in return we need the ultimate commitment, and there is no commitment better than marriage”.
“Bromance. It is a thing and we want to celebrate it”.
Two weeks ago, The Edge launched a teaser campaign through online and ambient mediums. Loveyouman.co.nz contained three videos of stereotypical ‘bromance’ scenarios, as well as a series of sharable eCards. The website received over 30,000 unique visitors* and sparked the curiosity of both public and media.
The Edge has built a reputation on creating outrageous weddings that create successful marriages. It started 13 years ago when they married two complete strangers, Paula Stockwell and Zane Nicholl.
Since then they’ve married two more sets of strangers, eloped three couples to Las Vegas, married a couple without clothes in Nudie Nuptials, left the groom to do all the work in Man Made Wedding and last year celebrated same sex marriage by marrying two gay couples.
Programme Director Leon Wratt says, “After the announce this morning, and the positive reception from our listeners, I am confident ‘Love You Man’ will add to The Edge’s reputation of pushing the boundaries. We’re not out to offend, just to make entertaining radio.”
A Kiwi man’s life is full of important relationships. A man and his car, a man and his dog, a man and his beer, but these all pale in comparison when compared to that sacred bond with his mate, his bro, his amigo, his best bud. But when presented with the crème de la crème of rugby experiences, how far will two mates go to get it?
Stay tuned to The Edge, Love You Man to find out. Registrations are now open at theedge.co.nz and public voting Starts on Monday 1st September
