Appointment of Principal Data Scientist highlights growth in Soltius’ Analytics Capability
Soltius New Zealand has appointed Dr Andrew Peterson to deliver services and solutions that help businesses predict and optimise outcomes.
With 13 years’ experience as an academic research scientist and 8 years’ using advanced statistics and mathematics in industry, Andrew has been appointed as the Principal Data Scientist in the Soltius Analytics Team.
Soltius is New Zealand’s leading provider of SAP solutions and the Analytics team has worked with many of the country’s leading companies to turn data into insights using SAP’s analytics software. In recent times this has increasingly included new analysis tools to help businesses predict trends, market changes and customer behaviours before they happen.
Andrew’s role at Soltius leverages his vast experience in data mining, optimisation and predictive modelling to deliver solutions using SAP’s Predictive Analytics tool set.
Business Line Manager Analytics, Dr Peter Catt says Andrew’s appointment comes with us responding to our customers’ needs.
“Our clients are maturing in their approach to Analytics and many are ready to realise the benefits of predictive analytics to gain valuable insight from growing data volumes. We have seen strong interest in using predictive analytics in areas ranging from increasing customer response to marketing campaigns right through to accurate demand forecasting and advanced supply chain optimisation.

Soltius is New Zealand’s only gold SAP Partner with more than 110 consultants and offices in Auckland and Wellington. The Analytics business line was started in 2010 with a team of 2 people. It now has 14 highly experienced Consultants and Architects and is expected to increase to 18 before the end of the year.
