Medtech Evolution selected by one of NZ’s largest GP clinic groups
Auckland August 4 2014: One of Auckland’s largest healthcare groups is migrating its practice management software (PMS) to Medtech Global’s new Medtech Evolution platform.
Nirvana Group, comprising East Tamaki Healthcare, Whitecross, West Auckland Healthcare and Mt Roskill Healthcare, has been using Medtech 32 as its PMS.
Dr Kanti Patel, Nirvana Group chairman, says the multi-clinic group rigorously reviewed Evolution General Practice at
both clinical and practice management levels, taking into consideration key criteria such as security, patient safety
and ease of use.
“This product is superior to comparisons both locally and internationally,” Dr Patel says. “We are confident this
product will cater for our future needs and growth and has significant flexibility over MT32 or any other software we
have reviewed in our selection process.
“The technology is highly secure and also interoperates with other products. The product will include browser and mobile
solutions, enabling better healthcare for patients beyond the clinic in the future. Through investing in our IT
infrastructure and transitioning to Evolution, the group is strengthening its leading role in clinical developments.”
Vino Ramayah, the chairman of Medtech Global, says Nirvana’s endorsement of Evolution is a significant milestone in the
company’s history.
“The product is built on the latest Microsoft Technologies with SQL database,” Mr Ramayah says. “It will revolutionise
the workflow of GPs, specialists, allied health providers and other health providers, enabling them to deliver better
healthcare to patients through increased efficiencies. The system has many artificial intelligence elements added to it
through Medtech’s Clinical and Business Intelligence Tool called (CBIT).”
Medtech32 has been the market-leading PMS in New Zealand for more than 30 years and Medtech’s products are also in the
United Kingdom, United States, India and Australia. Evolution has been developed with inputs from leading clinicians,
practice managers and other healthcare professionals and Medtech’s Medical Advisory Group.
Evolution gives both clinicians and practice managers a higher level of visibility of data, enabling enhanced patient
care and efficiencies within their practices.
Evolution is fully integrated with other Medtech products such as Manage My Health (Shared Electronic Health Record and
Patient Portal) and VitelMed, which provides telehealth solutions. These products are already deployed and gaining
momentum in several countries.
