Australian company Taylors Wines takes on New Zealand
Taylors Wines is seeing early results from its investment in the New Zealand market, with a strong sales increase in the first quarter of its new distribution company.
Company Director, Asia Pacific Market Manager and third generation family member Justin Taylor says NZ has always been one of Taylor’s most important export markets and the company is delighted with its early sales success.
Aztec sales data for March – May 2014 shows:
• Taylors Shiraz is the Number One selling shiraz in the $15 - $20 market, with sales volume up by 23%
• Taylors are Number Two for total red wine sales across New Zealand
• The value of Taylors red wine sales is up by 13% on the same period last year
All this is against a background where New Zealand wine sales for the quarter declined by 2.2%, so we are pleased Justin said.
Justin is visiting New Zealand in the first week of August to launch the inaugural 2009 The Visionary Cabernet Sauvignon, which at $NZ180 a bottle is Taylors Wines pinnacle release. Justin will host customer meetings and dinners in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland in the week beginning Monday 4 August 2014.
