Hastings Splash Planet ranked in top 5 Water Parks in Australasia/South Pacific

Hastings water theme park Splash Planet has been named in the top five in Trip Advisors Traveller’s Choice awards for amusement and water parks in Australasia/South Pacific.

Trip Advisor is the world’s largest travel site and gives travellers the opportunity to write their own reviews of hotels, restaurants and attractions that they have visited. According to the Trip Advisor website they have around 260 million unique monthly visitors and more than 150 million reviews and opinions.

Hastings Mayor Lawrence Yule says “To be ranked fifth in the amusement and water park category in Australasia is an enormous accolade for Splash Planet. The ranking is based on reviews from visitors and it is extremely gratifying to know that the majority of the reviewers were thrilled with the experience they had at Splash Planet and the park is living up to visitors expectations.”

Lawrence Yule says “Splash Planet is one of the top visitor attractions in Hastings and Council is committed to ensuring the park maintains its place at the top of the list of tourist destinations in the district.”

Number one on Trip Advisors 2014 list of amusement and water parks in Australasia/South Pacific is Sea World on Queensland’s Gold Coast. That was followed by another Gold Coast attraction, Dreamworld. Then came Darwin’s Wave Lagoon and Wetside Water Education Park in Hervey Bay.

Splash Planet opens for the summer season on 17 November 2014 and will operate through to Easter 2015 before closing for winter. More information is available on www.splashplanet.co.nz
