BPW NZ – Congratulates Business Leaders
The New Zealand Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW NZ) congratulates all NZ and Australian businesses who entered the YWCA Pay Equity Awards.
The inaugural YWCA Pay Equity Awards show that when public companies, private companies and NGO’s put their minds to it they can be the drivers of change for better business outcomes.
“These six winning organisations have raised the bar for recognising the economic value contributed by women employees” says President Vicky Mee.
“Westpac New Zealand Ltd took the premium ‘Gold Award’ for the level of leadership in the processes they have implemented to establish pay equity amongst their staff.
“Simpson Grierson and SKYCITY Entertainment Group share the Silver Award, both illustrating they are making changes by instigating processes and policies for pay equity.
“BNZ picked up the Bronze Award because their demonstrated success in diversity now provides the platform for pay equity.
“NZ Defence Force were highly commended for the courageous implementation of their programme to empower women across the organization.
“Special mention was given to Downers for their leadership in making a change in a uniquely male-dominated industry.
“These businesses are the leaders of change and have provided great examples for other companies in how pay equity contributes to business success. We congratulate them for best practice, we applaud them for sharing their stories and we thank them for inspiring other companies to do the same,” says Vicky Mee, President, BPW NZ.
