Brown Re-Elected as Council Chairman for Third Term

Brown Re-Elected as Council Chairman for Third Term, Duncan Coull New Deputy Chair

Fonterra Shareholders’ Council Chairman, Ian Brown has today been re-elected unopposed to the position for a third term.

Ian Brown: “I appreciate the support I continue to receive from Councillors and look forward to leading the Council for a further 12 months.”

Mr Brown is joined by first time Deputy Chair, Duncan Coull, also elected unopposed, who will take up his new role on 29 July for a 12 month term.
Mr Coull was elected to the Council in 2010 to represent Fonterra Farmers in Otorohanga and serves as the Chair of the Council’s Representation Committee.

He will replace current Deputy Chair, Philip Palmer who is stepping down from the role after two terms.

Mr Brown praised the contribution Mr Palmer made during his tenure as Deputy Chair and backed Mr Coull to step seamlessly into the position.

“Philip’s support was incredibly valuable during what was a pivotal two years for the Council and our Co-operative and I thank him for his hard work and dedication.

“I now look forward to working with Duncan and am confident he will do a great job for the Council as we continue to work to improve Fonterra Farmers’ returns through effective monitoring and strong representation.”
