Public information on 787-9 arrival into Auckland
The first 787-9 aircraft in the world to be delivered to an airline will touch down at Auckland International Airport
this afternoon between 4.00 and 4.30pm.
NZ6789 departed Paine Field, near Seattle shortly before 8am Thursday 10 July local time (around 3am this morning NZT)
on its approximately 13.5 hour journey to New Zealand.
Depending on weather conditions at the time it is intended the aircraft will approach the Musick Point/Browns Island
area from the North/East and head west towards North Head. It will then turn to the north heading up the Rangitoto
Channel towards Browns Bay then circle back towards Whenuapai before flying down the harbour towards Browns Island from
where it will position to land dependent on the runway in use on the day.
A live feed of the aircraft’s arrival into Auckland will be available on The Flying Social Network and livestream.com. The exact timing of this live feed will also depend on weather conditions and on the final estimated time of arrival
of the aircraft.
