2014 Agri Business Person and Agri Personality named tonight
The highlight of the 2014 Vodafone/Federated Farmers Cream of the Crop Awards, will see New Zealand’s Agri Business
Person and Agri Personality named tonight in Palmerston North.
“We are delighted to confirm the people who have made an outstanding contribution to agribusiness over the past
12-months,” says Bruce Wills, Federated Farmers President and 2014 Landcorp Agriculture Communicator of the Year.
“In my final year as President I would like to acknowledge the superb support of our partner Vodafone. They have not
only made these awards possible but have shown a generous interest working with New Zealand’s farmers.
“I am delighted to confirm the finalists for the 2014 Vodafone/Federated Farmers Agri Business Person of the year to be
named at Palmerston North’s Distinction Hotel (formerly the Travelodge).
“The four finalists are Dr. Paul Livingstone QSO from TB Free/OspriNZ, Lindy Nelson of the Agri Woman Development Trust,
Ballance Agri-Nutrients Chief Executive Larry Bilodeau and Farmlands Co-operative Society Ltd Chief Executive, Brent
Esler.
“We have included pen portraits of the finalists below who are all impressive New Zealanders.
“With Te Radar as the Master of Ceremonies, tonight the Board of Federated Farmers will award Federated Farmers 2014
Agri Personality of the Year too.
“A key part of Federated Farmers is celebrating success and the Vodafone Cream of the Crop Awards is the only event that
brings together all of agriculture’s major award winners under the same roof.
“As this will be my final awards as president can I say I am extraordinarily proud of the contribution agriculture makes
to New Zealand and at so many levels too.
“We have outstanding talent in farming and these awards recognise and celebrate them,” Mr Wills concluded.
