Northland Inc welcomes government support for Hawaiki
Northland Inc welcomes the announcement today by ministers Joyce and Adams that the Government-owned Research and Educational Advanced Network New Zealand Ltd (REANNZ) has entered into a $65 million anchor tenancy contract with Hawaiki Cable Ltd for its proposed new international telecommunications cable.
Northland Inc Ceo David Wilson says “We’ve always believed the Hawaiki Cable project is a critical piece of infrastructure that will attract further information and communication technologies (ICT) investment to Northland and New Zealand.”
The Government announcement today is one more piece of the puzzle that supports Hawaiki Cable Ltd toward the realisation of their project. We congratulate Rémi Galasso and his team on winning the contract and look forward to the next stage.
