Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale Catalogue Available Now
Catalogues for New Zealand Bloodstock’s Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale on Friday 1 August are in the post and available to be viewed online now.
A selection of 97 broodmares account for the majority of this year’s catalogue which also features five yearlings, six two-year-olds, seven unraced stock and 14 racehorses.
Prolific broodmare sire Zabeel has three mares featuring in the Sale, the recently retired Cambridge Stud stalwart is the dam sire of 24 Group 1 winners to date. Also with three mares in the Sale is fellow super sire Danehill, the dam sire of 51 Group 1 winners worldwide.
Other proven and exciting broodmare sires include Centaine, Last Tycoon, O’Reilly, Redoute’s Choice, Sadler’s Wells and more.
Covering sires include established stallions such as Alamosa, Darci Brahma, Guillotine, Iffraaj, Keeper, Pins, Tavistock, Thewayyouare and more.
Young sires with mares in foal to them include Group 1 Cox Plate hero Ocean Park, who is expecting his first progeny this breeding season, along with other young sires Azamour, Burgundy, Cape Blanco, Dalghar, Jimmy Choux, Makfi, Niagara, Per Incanto, Power, Redwood, Rip Van Winkle, Rock ‘n’ Pop, Shocking and Super Easy.
There are six stakes winning mares in the Sale and a further two mares that have already produced stakes winning progeny.
Also to feature are five racehorses that have already been successful on raceday.
Following the success of the last year’s Stallion Parade, New Zealand Bloodstock will once again conduct the parade from 10am prior to the Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale commencing.
Last year’s event proved popular with 15 sires making an appearance with a mixture of both proven and young sires parading. Entries for this year’s Stallion Parade are being accepted now, to enter a stallion at no cost please contact James Jennings (james.jennings@nzb.co.nz).
