Conversant launches multipoint web conferencing tool

26 June 2014 – Conversant, a leading New Zealand provider of cloud-hosted phone systems, is bringing the benefits of video and web conferencing to its customers with the launch of C-View.

C-View is a web-based conferencing service which enables users to connect to web conferencing sessions from any Flash-enabled internet browser, regardless of what platform they are on.

Being a multipoint conferencing service, C-View allows video calls and web meetings between numerous sites on different networks. Up to 25 participants can join a single session.

C-View makes it easy for small to medium-sized organisations to enable their employees and clients to collaborate, share ideas and make decisions on the spot, says Conversant founder and managing director, Cameron Beattie.

“Video conferencing is a cost effective productivity tool that brings people face-to-face without burning up precious time and travel budgets,” says Beattie.

“With C-View our customers can increase productivity, support collaboration in their organisations and improve decision-making, while reducing travel, which saves time, cuts costs and shrinks their carbon footprint.”

Because C-View is a cloud-based tool, it gives organisations of all sizes access to high-quality, HD video conferencing technology without the need to invest in expensive proprietary hardware.

“To enjoy the benefits of HD video conferencing all users need are an HD-capable webcam and a good internet connection,” says Beattie.

In addition to video calls, C-View is also a fully-fledged web meeting tool that lets participants share and work together on documents.

“Users can share their desktop or any screen with each other, share and edit documents or presentations, and collaborate on ideas using the virtual whiteboard function,” says Beattie.

C-View also offers a chat function supporting both public and private conversations, moderation functions for meeting leaders and allows audio-only participants to dial in on video conferencing sessions.

C-View is available to all existing Conversant customers from $39/month, or as a standalone service from $54/month. All C-View plans are offered with no contracts or minimum terms, and include unlimited calls.
