$15 Sauvignon Blanc Wins Trophy at Wine Oscars
A Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has claimed a gold medal and prestigious trophy at the 2014 Decanter World Wine Awards
held in London last night.
The Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc 2013 took home the Regional Trophy for the best New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc under
£15, with judges naming it as the benchmark Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc.
Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) are the world’s largest and most influential wine awards and is the international wine
industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. A panel of over 200 world-class judging experts carefully taste their way through
more than 15,000 wines from 61 countries.
Steven Spurrier, Chairman of the Decanter World Wine Awards, said “Awarding a wine with a Decanter sticker tells
consumers around the world that these wines have passed the ultimate test from our judges.”
The Decanter award is the 7th gold medal which has been awarded to the 2013 Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc, picked up
from competitions across NZ, Australia, Asia & the UK.
