Emperor Lounge receives international recognition in global

Media Release I 25 June, 2014

Auckland Airport’s Emperor Lounge receives international recognition in global survey

The global Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Awards 2014 saw Emperor Lounge at Auckland Airport receive a Highly Commended award.

Richard Barker, Auckland Airport’s general manager of retail, says he is delighted Emperor Lounge has received international recognition with a Highly Commended award in the Best Refreshments category.

“This acknowledges the hard work my team have put into ensuring Emperor Lounge is of a world-class standard,” says Mr Barker. “Emperor Lounge has helped us build upon our award-winning reputation for delivering the best facilities and options for international travellers.”

“Since it opened in 2012 we have worked in partnership with LSG Sky Chefs to develop the premium food and service offering for our Emperor Lounge visitors. We are thrilled that this successful collaboration has been recognised.”

The awards celebrate excellence within the Priority Pass network of over 700 airport lounges worldwide and are decided by travellers who have been rating their experiences over the last 12 months.

Winnie Lo, Executive Director for Priority Pass, says “Now in our tenth year, and with over 84,000 visits rated, the awards are designed to recognise those lounges in our program which deliver an exceptional lounge experience.”

“It is with great pleasure we present the Highly Commended award for Best Refreshments to Emperor Lounge at Auckland Airport. There have only been 18 other awards issued so this is truly a fantastic achievement.”
