Top Hurunui Attraction Wins Coveted International Award
Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa has won a prestigious award from the world’s largest travel website, TripAdvisor.
The pools have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2014 after consistently earning outstanding feedback from
TripAdvisor travellers.
President of TripAdvisor for Business, Marc Charron, says the awards honor exceptional businesses for consistent
excellence.
“The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve,
based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers.”
Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa General Manager Graeme Abbot is over the moon.
“It’s a huge coup to stand out and achieve excellence based on our visitors’ recommendations…it’s one of the best awards
we’ve received.”
Graeme Abbot says given the proliferation of websites like TripAdvisor and social media, positive reviews are more
important than ever.
“They’re especially important to the international market as they take huge notice of such websites when planning their
holidays. We’ve had around 173,000 overseas visitors to the pools in the past year – this recognition will help us
attract even more.”
