ZM Just Gets Bigger

ZM Just Gets Bigger

Auckland, 23 June 2014 – The Radio Network’s (TRN) popular ZM station is continuing its commitment to providing easy access for its audience with the hip brand set to launch on Juice TV from Monday. Content Director for ZM, Sarah Gandy says it was a natural fit with the company’s vision for ZM as it continues to fuel an ever-expanding multimedia footprint.

“ZM is everywhere because that’s what our audience wants. It’s about being able to consume content when and where listeners want to on multiple devices. ZM is highly engaged with its audience on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, online and via iHeartRadio and now on Juice TV.”

Gandy says with 85% of internet usage in New Zealand forecast to be video by 2018, ZM is perfectly positioned to be at the forefront of this shift. ZM has always been an early adopter of new technology, so the newly created show on Juice TV is simply one part of an extensive game-plan.

“It’s about getting your fix when it suits you. We were first to invest heavily in a state-of-the-art studio, introducing the live stream when Fletch, Vaughan and Megan started. This has proven hugely popular and their podcasts are consistently in the top five podcasts on iTunes.”

Gandy says ZM is leading the way in live streaming.

“iHeartRadio’s ZM live streaming attracted an audience of 54,039 in May and 66% of those people are using their mobile to listen. They listened to 649,099 live streams during that month and the ZM website had its biggest month ever with 542,053 unique visitors.”*

ZM will be air on Juice TV (Channel 112 on Sky) from 4-6pm every week day. With a monthly reach of 665,000 of which 285,000 are 15-29 year olds, Director of Juice TV, Dan Wrightson says the brand alliance couldn’t be better.

“We’re very excited about working with TRN on this project. Everyone is talking about ZM, it’s the hottest thing right now and their brand aligns perfectly with our Juice TV audience.”

The show will be presented by Six60 bass player and ZM host Chris Mac and will feature the 20 top songs in New Zealand with ZM listeners able to vote daily for their favourite songs.

ZM on Juice TV Weekdays 4-6pm will feature;
ZM20 with Chris Mac featuring the 20 hottest songs in New Zealand
The Scoop with PJ featuring the latest celebrity gossip from New Zealand and around the world
Best Bits of Fletch, Vaughan & Megan featuring video highlights of their breakfast show and other adventures

Gandy says “This new show with Juice TV just further enhances multimedia opportunities for advertisers to be aligned with ZM.”
