Telecom warns of fraudulent phone calls

Media Advisory: Telecom warns of fraudulent phone calls.

Telecom has become aware that some of its customers have been contacted by fraudsters claiming to be from Telecom.

The fraudsters, are reportedly telling customers that their Telecom services are about to be cut off because of security issues and then asking the customers to go online to a fake Telecom webpage. Customers are also being asked to give remote access to their computer and provide personal banking information as part of this scam.

These calls are not from Telecom and Telecom strongly advise anyone who receives one of these calls to hang up immediately, do not hand over any personal banking information and do not proceed to the fraudulent webpage. If anyone has passed on information, Telecom advise you to contact your bank immediately.

Please be assured that these fraudsters do not have access to Telecom systems.

We are informing customers through our digital channels.
