Weiss heat transfer units – Prohibition on sale and use of some models now active
Energy Safety advises that the prohibition on the use and sale of certain Weiss heat transfer units produced prior to 2012 is in force from tomorrow, Friday 20 June 2014.
The models concerned are: FV602, FV603, FV652 and FV653.
“Consumers who know, or suspect, they have one of these models should immediately switch it off, and not use it until advised that it is safe to do so ,” Mark Wogan, Manager Energy Safety said.
Consumers should contact the manufacturer on 0800 208 008.
“Energy Safety strongly recommends that consumers do not enter the roof space of their properties to check if they have one of these units and ask a registered electrician to do this work.
