Guild welcomes new President and Vice President
The new Board of Directors of the Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand (the Guild) has elected Ken Orr as the new President, and David Bullen as the new Vice President.
Guild Chief Executive, Lee Hohaia, says “Both are experienced community pharmacists and pharmacy owners, and have significant board experience. Myself, Guild staff and the rest of the Board look forward to working with Ken and David throughout the next year.
“Ken has been a board member since 2008 and Vice President since 2012. Ken is a partner in Orrs Pharmacies Ltd in Northland, sits on the board of Green Cross Health and has been the Director of Manaia PHO since its formation.
“David Bullen brings with him a wealth of experience having owned community pharmacies in the Waikato area since 1994.
“Ken is replacing Karen Crisp who has been President since 2011. Karen has been President throughout the implementation of the Pharmacy Services Agreement (PSA), a significant time of change for both Guild members and Guild staff. Her expertise and leadership throughout this time has been greatly valued. Karen will continue to have a role on the Board as one of the Southern Electorate board members.
“The Guild also welcomes Anthony Roberts, owner of Cook Street Pharmacy in Palmerston North, who is new to the Board this year.
“The Guild farewells Graeme Platt and Mark Webster who are leaving the Guild Board this year.
We thank them for their dedication and contribution to the Guild throughout their time on the Board. Their input into the governing of the Guild has been much appreciated. We are pleased that Mark will remain as Chair of the PSL Board.”
