Tui Acquires Hawthorne
Invercargill-based dag-crushing processor Ian Hawthorne Wools has announced a successful acquisition of the business by New Zealand-owned and -operated Tui Products Ltd.
“We have worked closely and successfully for many years with Tui’s national garden supply business, which has interests in the use of the waste stream from the Ian Hawthorne Wools plant, and believe that Tui will be a good fit as owner of the business,” says Ian Hawthorne.
“In completing this sale, I believe I have ensured the company’s long-term viability for both customers and staff and look forward to continuing the very close relationship we have enjoyed with our suppliers and buyers over the last 37 years.”
It will remain business as usual at Ian Hawthorne Wools, with Mr Hawthorne remaining in the business for the foreseeable future to ensure a seamless transition to new ownership. All staff will be retained in their current roles.
